Aluminum Screen

Well I went to Home Depot this morning to start getting things for my new coop.

To make a long story short, I bought rolls of aluminum screening like in screen windows instead of cage wire. I figured I wanted to try something different.


Any thoughts?

That is not going to keep dogs and racoons out. Nor will poultry netting (in case you were going to exchange for that).

Is that for use inside the coop as a pen divider?

maybe i should exchange it for the 1x2 or what ever cage wire?? I bought it not as a divider but for the caging material.

Darn, I want it to substitute for a screened in room as well.

Maybe i should try it and see what happens.

Perhaps someone with a screen door could let me know how they work for keeping preditors out.

Yeah--every predator will rip right through that with very little effort.

Well you have to keep in mind that the only thing a screen was ever meant for was to keep out a mosquito....I think that about says it all:>)

Just ask anyone who has ever had a patio screen door and a new puppy:>)

see they do make a screen thats real tough hard to work with but not cheap the other stuff will rip like paper

Both kinds of screen (aluminum and fiberglas) will not slow down a predator for more than twenty seconds, unfortunately. (Chickenwire either).
