American Buff and Cotton Patch Ganders Compatible?

We have one lonely Cotton Patch gander at our living history museum. His mate died this spring, and we have been unable to locate another female Cotton Patch (long waiting lists at all the breeders we know). We have been offered a young, probably male, American Buff as a companion animal.

Our Cotton Patch is not aggressive except during mating season. Would two ganders get along with no females around?

I did, and I've been in contact with out-of-state breeders, but most have waiting lists through 2018 for eggs or goslings. I would settle for an older Cotton Patch, male or female, as a companion animal if it's available now.
