I haven't seen which chicken is doing this, but 3 times now I have come across what looks like a broken yolk and egg white substance just on the ground. There is no membrane or shell anywhere. There is a large area of this as if it was expelled, and then, as if it is still leaking, there is a trail of it in the common area of their yard. I can't imagine what is going on, and none of the chickens seem ill or distressed. I've had chickens for 20 years and have never seen anything like this.
Has anyone ever experienced this, and may know what the problem is?

Chickens usually eat soft shelled eggs really fast if they find them in the yard, wonder if one of the girls is laying soft shelled eggs or having one break and walking around with it leaking. I have seen mine go after hens that have a piece of soft shelled egg dangling trying to grab it. Some chickens with egg yolk peritonitis will also have yolk colored droppings.
