Hello! I have about nineteen chickens and I just wanted to share a little story of one of my chickens, Joy.
We were hatching five eggs, and she was the only one to hatch, I took care of her and she eventually grew to trust me. At about pullet age, we had an unexpected storm pop up, and with that storm came a tornado. The chickens were in their coops and we couldn't bring them inside as the tornado was less than a mile away. All of the coops were crushed and two chickens died, we were lucky to have only two dead though.
Joy and Betty (one of my leghorns) both passed. Joy was a very special chicken and she'll stay in our hearts.
