Animals to protect chickens from foxes

I know of nothing that would work for that. You need either good fencing (fully secure pen including secure roofing and non-diggable barrier) or livestock guardian dogs.

A Sussex Cockeral!

I'm partially joking but I actually saw a tailless Sussex cockeral once because it ATE a fox. Lost it's tail but the fox lost it's life trying to get to the rooster's hens!!!

I think that geese would be too loud and would only alert you of the fox, not defend the chickens
what about miniature llama do you that could work?
In most cases it is a lot more effective to prevent the fox then to have animals to guard the hens

My friend keeps her goat buck in the fenced in chicken yard & ever since then has not had any trouble with foxes. He cannot get into the coop, but he protects the yard.

Anything small and quiet probably isn't going to take on a fox. Generally the better they are at predator protection, the better they'd be at killing chickens themselves.

It's not an animal but maybe something like this might fit the other criteria: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200353323_200353323

We all wish such a guardian animal existed that was easy, quiet, cheap, and small. Maybe add hot wire for added peace of mind or motion lights...??
