I want to trace my drawing. I hate shading black and there were three so I got lazy and scribbled it in to show that it wasn’t white.

I'd love to animate one day, is it rough?

Not sure what you mean by rough, but everybody has a different skill level. Working really hard and dedication is really important to animating. I'd advise trying to learn from tutorials, but also following your own art style! If you need any help figuring out which programs to use, just ask!

How do you design a character you can stick with, It's hard for me...any tips?

Hmmm. Making a reference sheet is really helpful. When making one, do a full body reference, a head reference, and an enlarged eye. That will make it easier to draw if you can use it as reference. As for animating, make sure it's a simple design so it's easier to animate several frames. I'm using my school computer right now, but when I get on my home computer, I'll post an example!

Here are some sketches I did of characters from a story I'm working on with my sister.
I was mainly working on hair designs and clothing designs for different characters though. So I didn't bother going through the trouble of drawing eyes, they look better without them anyways.
