I like the extra detail on the face and legs, i wouldn't know how to make it look floofy either. It doesn't look bad, certainly has an interesting style to it. But it's clearly not what you were going for.

Found the first meme.
If I like a character, that character will become a Hat Donor for Kirby at some point or another. This goes for the stronk Security Corps captain from Pokemon Legends: Arceus, as well.
Don't mind the weird lighting -- my lights are off at the moment, and my flashlight was better than the flash of my phone camera because it didn't reflect off of the graphite. The bottom photo was taken during the day, hence the better lighting.
Anyway.
