What tool did you use for each specifically?

Just plain old graphite pencils. I think I even used the same set for both drawings.

I used to think I couldn't paint, but I've being doing a bit recently and found I am not as bad as I thought I was
I do mostly realistic and didn't think I could do it with paint.
