Any Gamers Here?

I’m really loving Monster Hunter Wilds. I am liking it more than World.

I recommend that someone going from World to Wilds understand that the real game doesn’t really start until you beat the story. After the story is over, the game really becomes what the game was billed to be; an open world and dynamic environment/ecosystem. The high rank quests don’t begin until after the story is over. Events in the story set the stage for the world to open up.

I've been putting a lot of hours into Monster Hunter Wilds, too, way more than I expected. It picks up big time after you finish the main story. I liked World, but Wilds feels more alive as if the World reacts to what you're doing. It took me a while to adjust to the endgame content style, but once I stopped rushing and just explored, it clicked.

I trade skins for CS2 during my cooldown time when not hunting monsters. I've been using this place for fast skin trades and good deals, which help keep my inventory sharp without wasting time. You might want to check it out if you're into that scene: https://skinsmonkey.com/

I’m really surprised by how much I’m liking Wilds. One of the main criticisms that many Monster Hunter veterans have of Wilds is that the game is too streamlined and easy. And yes, I would agree its easier compared to other Monster Hunter games.

But simply the way it looks and plays is so satisfying that I’m having a blast. Its just plain fun. And that’s coming from a hard-core, old gen, Monster Hunter vet. My first MH was Freedom Unite and over the course of many years I likely put 300 hours on the low end and 400 hours on the high end. I skipped World when it launched (my daughter was born and I generally stopped gaming for a few years). Then I got into Rise. Rise was culture shock by how much the game changed, but I got used to it and then came to prefer the new fast pace. I then tried to get into World and just couldn’t after Rise. The pace was too slow and I didn’t have 100 hours of my life to give up.

When I’m done with Wilds I’m going to go back to World while awaiting more content for Wilds. World looks and plays smooth with its PS5 enhancements and I think I’ll enjoy it now as I have more time to put into it. And then I’ll pick up Generations Ultimate for the Switch for my portable fix.

But yeah, Wilds is a blast. Not quite as fast as Rise, but faster than World and like you said, the environments are well done. It feels far more immersive than previous titles.

I added some more games to the herd. One was free, two were on sale. I’m going to wear out MH Wilds before getting into another, but I tried them all just to see how they played.

And Cyberpunk 2077:

Cyberpunk looks amazing on the Pro. I have ray tracing turned on and with the extra juice of the Pro it still runs at a smooth frame rate.

Been playing a lot of farming simulator 22 lately. I'm still in the earn as much money as possible so you can buy more fields and better equipment phase but I think my plan of action is to invest hard into sugar beet and sugar production and eventually expand my egg operation to more than one coop. Maybe long term I can go into cake production

For some reason, I wasn’t getting notifications that there were replies on this thread. Still scratching my head about that.

Anyway, I decided to replay an old chess pc program I mentioned in 2024. It’s called Majestic Chess, and as I said before its designed to teach you how to play chess.

Today, I finally beat adventure mode again.

I’m not going to lie, Sargon was one TOUGH opponent.

Four knights game was what I used to win instead of the Danish gambit I used last time.

This was the final screen.

I guess you can say I graduated. Not with flying colors, because it took several attempts and my score was low, I can always retake this “Majestic Chess course.“ Maybe I’ll try to get a better score and improve my game.
