Any Home Bakers Here?

I need to tell you all something, and believe it or not, this is baking related.

The doctor says that me and my brother are almost pre-diabetic. He said to cut back on specific foods, he gave us a list of things that we should not eat and things we should eat. To my surprise, sourdough bread was on the list of things we should eat. Other bread was on the list of things we should try not to eat.

For this reason, I got some sourdough starter from @ronott1 and another source, and now I am now making a loaf of sourdough once every two days.

We go through bread fast in our family, so that’s why I’m making sourdough so frequently.

This is today’s loaf.

And here is the starter.

I wonder what I should name it…..
I named mine Genesis ...from the Bible...meaning the beginning. And Ron's Starter is the BEST. I have been using
mine every week and it is SUPER...makes the Best Breads. Sourdough is easier to digest. Aria

We finally got snow!

I have Nutcrackers from Germany all around.
All were gifts which I treasure.
How wonderful!

My "neighbor who had a heart attack" (still with us! :thumbsup ) sewed costumes for the Grand Rapids Ballet, and did many a Nutcracker costume. Her husband was "Mother Ginger" one year. :lau

I remember reading in the program that anyone who wanted to be considered for the part of Mother Ginger should call the Ballet Office. The only requirements were you had to be at least a certain height, and willing to make a public spectacle of yourself.

We went to the Nutcracker Ballet 2-3 times. One year, we were in line for tickets for the next weekend. The rock group "Bad Company" had canceled their performance. The ticket seller took one look at our leather jackets and said, "Bad Company refunds?" I said, "Uh, no. Nutcracker Baller tickets."
