She has NO TAIL, not even a bump! Her proportions are perfect! I wanted to show her but was told I have to have paperwork proving her lineage back to the Isle of Manx. Can a vet do bloodwork or anything to prove this? Anyone know anything about showing Manx cats? I've seen her parents (mom a tailed manx, father a tailess manx) and the grandparents on the father's side (mom a bobtail manx father a tailed manx) and there were no abnormalities in any of them, just the spinal shortening gene running strong in each generation. If I can't show her I'd like to breed her next year (shes about a year old, I want 1 litter a year for 3 years and have her fixed just before she turns 5). I'd LOVE to breed her back to a ginger tailed manx but really any color will do as long as it's a tailed manx. If anyone in FL has one they'd like to breed with her let me know! So, lets see pics and hear stories of your manx cats!

She's sitting in my lap admiring your comments and purring approvingly. She's not high maintenance like most fancy cats but she DOES know she's cute.

She's adorable! My hubby and I have a bobtailed rescue cat...supposedly he was born that way..only probably 1 or 2 tail bones past the sacrum and its kind crooked...lol He definitely has the rabbity hind end. He is very playful, but skittish and afraid of strangers. We adopted him at around 1 year old. He'd been fostered when he was a little kitten...but I guess they didn't socialize the kitttens well

He's an entertaining cat though...and very cute! He's an orange tabby

She is very cute. I have American Bobtails. I have had them for so long that cats with tails look odd to me...lol

She is so cute!

I think I might have a manx cat. Her tail is about 2 inches long with a little piece of skin that hangs over at the end. We rescued Tigger from a school where she was abandoned.

That's just too adorable.

I recently learned that the Manx come from the Isle of Man. That's pretty cool.

Isn't Mark Cavendish from there also?

I have a Manx named Maxwell or Max. He was born in a barn. His mom was the barn cat. Her tail was about 3" long. She had 2 litters and only the male kittens had no tail. He's now a house cat and doesn't miss the barn life. He grew from tiny kitten to a 12 lb cat that is into everything. He's the best cat. My DD has even said thet if something happens to us She gets the cat.

Here's Max as a youngster.
