Hi, I am raising our ducks to try duck egg since I am allergic to chicken. However, if ducks eggs are like beef for me I am affected if the cow eats wheat (i sm allergic to wheat too). Sooo thinking Head for best outcome of eating a duck egg wondering if anyone else has limited ingredienrs for their ducks to avoid allergies for the consumer (aka me lol).

I know some avoid soy when they feed their ducks.
I hope it works for you. Have you tried duck eggs prior to raising them?
I developed an intolerance to them. I never tried them before I got ducks. 🙁

Well at the end of the day my one egg a day hubby will eat them. The allergist just mentioned it as an option. Our duckies are pets first. We incubated them etc. I wonder if I can nake their duck food out of sorghum and quinoa corn flax seeds etc?

:frow Welcome from New Orleans. What a great idea for those who are allergic to chicken eggs. I am curious to see how this works out for you. You will probably have to make your own duck feed since you are allergic to wheat as well. Perhaps you can find something in the forums or articles regarding homemade duck food and what they need to stay healthy. Good luck, this is so interesting. :highfive:

Thank you! I got the idea from not able to eat some meat until I realized grass fed finished on grass only was no issue.

My ducks are definitely pets. 😁
I'm not sure what to recommend as far as making your own feed. I know there are nutritional needs to consider. I would search around for some good feed recipes, but it will definitely cost more making your own.
