Anyone else get chickens because of Harvest Moon or another game?

I was given Harvest Moon Animal Parade for Christmas. I spent so much time feeding fake chickens that I figured I might as well get some real-life chickens. At least they would produce eggs. I have not played Animal Parade since my day-old chicks were delivered on April 27. The real thing is much more entertaining and gives me some exercise. Still have a few months before I can gather real eggs.

Glad you joined the real world, lol. My mom was big into farmville on facebook. I went over to her house one day and heard cows moo-ing.

. So she showed me her "garden". I told her that I'd be more than happy to help her dig a real one, lol. She finally burned out on "harvesting, fertilizing" etc her cyber garden too.

I didn't get my chickens because of Harvest Moon, but it is one of my favorite game series. The original on the SNES and Rune Factory on the DS are my favorites.
