anyone feed their chickens kandy kid dried molasses?

I'm looking through a flyer from my local farm supply store and see a bag of Kandy Kid Dried Molasses by Stockade. I googled Stockade and it explains its product as a soy granule sprayed with molasses and it stimulates appetites and enhances growth and productivity of livestock. The reason I'm asking is the bag has a picture of a horse, cow, turkey, pig, sheep and a chicken. Could this be a treat to give this cold winter & give them energy or just give them diarrhea as I've read on backyardchickens? Anybody know?

Tell me more about the soybeans. I have a feed guy who is wanting to make his own chicken feed and is looking to use roasted soybeans. Thanks

I don't have problems with roasted soy for chickens. It has to be roasted though, because of the anti-trypsin thing.

If you don't have any aversion or allergy to soy, then molasses is ok IN MODERATION... just like anything. You wouldn't give any other livestock an overdose of molasses, soy, oats, hay, or anything else, right?

My girls got a couple handfuls of horse "sweet feed" which has molasses in it, and they loved it.

Besides, molasses has a lot of vitamins and minerals in it. My mom used to give us each a tablespoon full of backstrap molasses every morning on our oatmeal for breakfast.

I've been cutting my last bag of layer pellets with 10% all stock sweet feed - it's heavy on the molassas, and its cheaper than plain corn, plus it's pelleted about the same as Layena (except darker colored) and I don't find the birds billing out extra feed fishing around for certain pellets.
Is it doing anything for them? I dunno. It doesn't seem to be hurting.
Deer corn is back in season, and it's even cheaper, so I'll start throwing out their treats again instead of altering their feed.
