Most of my hatches from my flock are black with white bellies. This little one is brown and lighter brown belly. Anyone seen similar looking chicks? Guesses on type?
This is just a guess but i think it might be a black copper maran, a barred rock, or a black sexlink chick sorry if im wrong dont completely take my word for this wait for others to post more answers on this page hope i was some-what of a help to you!
My yard. It hatched under a broody hen who rejected him and one other. The eggs she is sitting on are not necessarily hers. Many hen lay eggs in various nest.
I have mixed barnyard specials. The only certain breeds are an Ameraucana roo and a faverolle hen. I suspect I have some Australorp and some Cochin. I may have some EE if the genetics lived on through offspring. My original are gone. I had a brown frizzle faverolle who just died. I think she may have looked a little like this one when young. I called her Brownie because she was my first and only brown chick. Below is Brownie as a baby and then grown.
I sure hope so. She was really pretty and unusual.I hope this is one from her. Could be.....
TIme will tell if its a frizzle or not. No fifth toe though so that aspect is different.
