Anyone know of coop builders in the Nashville TN area?

Have you tried putting a ad out on craigslist? I usually see a few chicken tractors on there

I'd really like to get a tradition hen house. Tractors don't work well on my slopes.

Mike Williams built mine. He's a skilled woodworker, and a long time keeper of chickens himself. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. He's built a number of coops for others and they all look great. His email is [email protected]

This is the coop that Mike built for me. Two egg boxes on the side. . I asked him to make a moon and sun, so he carved the moon vent out of cedar (1/4" hardware cloth behind it), which he whitewashed, and a sun over the door. My coop is all cedar, but he builds from any materials. Warning: he hates to paint them, but you could do that yourself if you didn't want a natural finish. Mine is clear coated for added protection of the wood.

Hi! Thanks for your suggestion, but that route didn't pan out for me. I did find a great coop at Outdoor Outfitter's at 7105 Charlotte Pike. I gave them the Wichita design from the website. Very accommodating. Anyone interested should talk to Frank at 615 481-1111.
