Poor Sumi was in here pming and deleting and it was almost blown, even by me who was waiting for it and posted and didn't pm. I was too excited. LOL She did a great job and then reinforcements came in to help her, but I was also watching it posted on the BYC FB page and I did notice you guys coming in and ratting us out! LOL

But this place was so dead that night it was a while before some of the older members came in and I backed off. I don't do AF pranks anywhere but here, but I had my youngest daughter and her 2 youngest daughters, playing them on me all day yesterday. I stay in here all night and I was prone by 8:00 last night. Next year I'm going to promote whatever crazy thing is posted and be on the other side this time. I almost changed horse in the moddle of the stream this time, but hey, it was FB and I got to rant. LOL


And!! I didn't get a pretty award, but I managed to get a thank you out of Nifty!

Whew..glad it's a joke..I had to keep erasing my replies, because if I had posted them, I would have gotten a nasty message from Admin saying my post was violating the TOS......

Wonderful...very excited for BYC!! I would love to see BeakBook...be as global as it is now with the added connection to Facebook it could truly be a global connection to feed the world! think about all the varieties of chicken and the ability to partner with other countries where species are endangered to help bring those species back to optimum levels through the partnership of BYC & facebook.
So my suggestions are:

• to offer links and discounts with the postal service to help get chicks and hatching eggs to those in need.

• Think of it as a global cooperative extension with the brightest minds on board to aid in maintaining the health and well being of our chickens based on the regions we live in
• offer help in building coops -like world barn raisings
• online chicken shows like we have now
• help local small farm homesteads

putting the FREE back in freedom!
So many ideas that are already in place here on BYC but the reachability of facebook...this is truly a wonderful undertaking!!!

Well, I think we're deep enough into the pages to confirm this was our annual April Fool's Day joke! We won't change the first post or remove the announcement so others can still have some fun.

A HUGE HUGE THANK YOU to the staff that spent hours and hours removing the tons of "this is an april fools day joke" from the first bunch of pages so peeps could still have fun. Also, a big THANK YOU to the members who knew it was a joke but kept quiet to allow others to have a good time.

Finally, sorry to anybody who was offended, upset, hurt, etc. We try very hard not to do anything that would be considered mean or upsetting, but with hundreds of thousands of different members it's always hard not to upset some people with anything we do. With that said, we also know a lot of our old-time peeps would be upset if we didn't do anything... I mean, it's tradition!!!

Overall, we love our community and try to have fun, not take ourselves too seriously, and let our hair down once in a while. Thanks for everyone's support!



It's a lot of work coordinating and managing this... we often start planning these many months in advance. We often hear from lots of members that really look forward to seeing what we'll do.

I am not a fan of FaceBook, as a matter of fact I hate facebook! I think this is a terrible idea!
I am not sure why you would want to team up with FaceBook. We have a great forum here and I believe it would be a HUGE mistake to turn it into a second facebook for chickens!
