I already posted about these babes and there’s still no definitive conclusion on breed (prob barnyard mix even though they weren’t supposed to be) but in the last week, the two light ones’ combs have pinked up like crazy! And I was told the red one was a roo already. The light ones are 9 weeks old and the red one is 7 weeks old. These were the best pics I could get this morning. They were full of energy lol

The lighter one with more black speckles looks like a cockerel to me. The other light one also looks like it might be but not sure, 50/50. The dark one I'm not sure, I would lean toward pullet.
I’ve been told that the light with black is a cockerel before. I’m hoping at least one of them is a pullet!

I don't recall any of my pullets having wattles that young, but they could be fast maturing pullets. The even red coloring and lighter chest feathers make me think pullets on the first two. The dark one I can't really see the head/face well enough to say either way . . . .

I'm still learning about gender specific color patterns, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: wanted to add the wattles and combs can pink up if they get excited or too much sun, so see if comes and goes.

That’s good to know about the pink combs for excitement or sun. It’s definitely very very hot this week here so maybe that’s why 🤞🏼 here’s a little better pics of red’s face. Let me know what you think.

That one is puzzling . .looks a bit like my RIR, but they have a single comb and the pullets don't have black hackle feathers. 20250527_134016.jpg
That's a RIR cockerel at 6-7 weeks old. Yours appears darker overall and has a different type of comb. Could be a RIR mix.

Edit: 20250616_172300(14).jpg RIR Pullet 7-8 weeks old, for comparison
