I ordered 25 pullets (they sent 26, one died) and now I am worried they send me straight run or they suck at vent sexing. I was sure the one roo they sent as an extra was IDed and re homed with 3 girls to be a happy little family. Now I am pretty dang sure 2 are boys (#3 and #5) and have questions about 5 others. They are 7 weeks and 2 days old today.

#1 and #2 these ones have a bit pinker combs then the ones I am sure are girls, they have slower growing tail feathers as well

#3 he has a triple row red comb with the best beard of all the chicks and thick legs.

Maybe the EXPERT doing the vent sexing that day had a HANGOVER. :idunno
The extra was 99% cockerel included free. Of course you do not know which was # 26. They are referred to as packing peanuts.
Don't know what to suggest for your cockerels. Many peeps raise them to semi maturity and eat them. That is a much better option for them than going thru 1st day discard. This way a rooster has a good life with just a very short bad period. Chickens were meant to provide nutrition for us, so give that some thought.
I only keep chickens as pets, and very small numbers. Don't eat them. Cant keep roosters. I do eat my chickens' eggs. I do eat chickens from grocery store.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,, and :welcome

Why pay extra when they are straight run anyways? I knew the #26 would have been a roo, but man all mighty that means I have 7/25 roos when I bought chicks that should have a 95% chance of being pullets(I should have gotten 0-1 males plus the packing peanut.
So you think I am right and all 7 are regretfully little dudes?

The barred one, maybe. The rest, I don't see anything that screams cockerel. Wait a few weeks, then post again. I don't see the tell tale red shoulder patches that say cockerel. Too early for saddle and hackle feathers to be showing up.
So you don't think #3 is a cockerel? I had thought the blotchy red was doom and gloom if you were hoping for pullets.

I am fairly positive 1 and 2 are females. That coloring I've only seen on hens. 3 and 5 I'm pretty positive (definitely 3) are males. 4,6,7 I'm not sure.

If you got them from a reputable place, vent sexed, you should be able to get a refund, but unfortunately that doesn't make up for the time, money, and effort you put into them.
