This is Fussbutt, our 2+ year old Buff Orp. Yes, she's broody. Yes, she's in the middle of having a major tantrum. Yes, she's spending the next few days in jail for crimes against helpless baby barred rock pullets! Baaaad Fussbutt!! Baaad bird!!

And yes, she knows exactly why she's in there!!

We have fifteen BO hens. At any time, we have one-or-two what we call "loafers" who sit in the nest boxes all day. They squawk like crazy when we pull them out and toss them out the chook door into the run. They puff up and try to come back in, but a foot in the door keeps them out.
