Thanks. They don't go through that ugly velociraptor/dinosaur stage. They just look a lot like a pigeon as juvies. They are laying and foraging machines also. So far, I haven't had a people aggressive rooster/cockerel either. They don't tear up the girls backs either, but they are very spooky.
 
I have had numerous hens that go broody, but they all go broody at the same time in July. I want one that will be a surrogate at different times of the year. LOL I don't want much just a feathered self-regulating incubator and brooder so I don't have to worry about temps.

It's great having broody girls. I have caring family that bought me an egg turner to go with my incubator for my birthday in June, and it's not often I'm happy about not having to open my birthday present. LOL
 
Does anyone know of any livestock auctions in the NW AR area? That auction small animals like poultry? I know of one in Marble, but heard they went up quite a bit on premiums.
