Hello, I have a hen with a swollen abdomen. She is not egg bound, I have checked. She is obviously feeling very bad, tail down and will not eat. It seems like she is breathing a little heavy like the fluid is pressing on her lungs.
I have previously just put chickens down when I see this but I feel it might be time for me to learn how to drain one and see if I can actually help her, even though I am very scared and I know she will not live very long even if I do this. I just want to try to learn how to do this if I can help her feel a little better for a while.
I have read different threads on here and I am going to purchase a 30ml syringe with a 1 inch needle but I need to have someone show or tell me just where to put the needle I really don't want to mess this up and I can't seem to find anyone explaining where exactly to put the needle. Please help me
