Ask Lacy Duckwing Anything!

Yes! I have one trip planned at the end of June/beginning of July, and the rest of my camping will probably be a little less planned. I barely did any camping last year, so I'm hoping to do a lot this year if I can get my flocks straightened out in time.
Great! Where are you going?

The end of June trip will be on Flagstaff Lake, which was originally a town that was flooded. I'm hoping to do some different exploring this time because it's on a different part of the lake than where I usually camp. Last time I camped there (on the other side of the lake), I kayaked to an island where the old road crossed over and the road was still there. (I could even see it for a little ways under the water.)
I'm hoping to do at least one trip to Moosehead Lake (I like observing the Swedish Hybrids that have been living there for years) and there's another place I'm hoping to go that is miles and miles of nothing but dirt. There's a nice lake out there and we usually get the place to ourselves.

Sounds like fun! If you could camp anywhere, where would it be?

Avery Peak on Bigelow Mountain. It overlooks Flagstaff Lake and would have awesome views. I came close to hiking up that high, but we had a little one with us who wasn't going to make it up the more dangerous climbing.

Once, while camping on Flagstaff Lake in a camping spot where I could see the mountain, I saw someone shining a bright flashlight on the top after it had gotten dark.

What inspired you to get into photography?
I've been taking pictures for as long as I can remember, starting with these $7 film cameras I got at the grocery store. When my family first got chickens, I'd occasionally borrow my Mom's Kodiak (she never used her cameras) to take pictures of the birds. Then from there, my Mom did an at home natural birth, and she asked me and my sister to photograph it with me taking pictures with her Kodiak and my sister filming with my Mom's Nikon. My sister couldn't handle the birth, so she left early, but I stayed and photographed everything. Because of that, my Mom was greatly impressed and gave me her Kodiak and later sold me her Nikon. Later, I got a Canon Powershot and eventually got my Canon EOS Rebel T5 (and so on).
I have gotten a couple of video cameras, including a Sony, but I didn't stick with them that long. The Sony spoiled me, then stopped working, and my second one just didn't measure. (I think I sold the second one.) Besides taking videos for my YouTube channel, I stick to taking pictures only.
