Can they be 4 or 5 weeks old and be fine in FL? It's getting into the 'cooler' season so I want to have an idea of safe temperatures to leave the brooder.

At 4-5 weeks they are almost fully feathered, so they can handle temps above freezing. Just make sure they are dry, out of the wind, and have some small shelters.

Ok that's really good to know. I'm using plywood on the corners of the cage to block in their sandboxes. They will be safe from wind. I don't know if it even goes below 32F here. Maybe just a couple times if at all.

My 5 week old quail have been out in the garage for a week or more and our temps up here in suburban Siberia are below freezing, no drafts and good feathering help immensely, but they are certainly going through feed (extra energy to keep warm!). I did order a heater just to keep the water from freezing with real winter imminent, I thought I’d just change it twice a day but, ugh! The perfect Christmas gift!
