This is a thread I am going to use to try to keep track daily of the time my chicken wake up and go to roost. I'm very interested by other flock's habits, so I would appreciate anyone also posting, any time.

The reason I am.doing this is because I'm a bit surprised that my chickens go to sleep so early and I want to check the evolution.

UTC +1
Time the chickens came out of the coop : 6.35
Time the first chicken went to roost : 3.45 pm
Time the last chicken went to roost : 4.35 pm
Dawn : 6.50 am
Night : 5.30 pm
Morning temperature : 3c
Evening temperature: 11c.
Weather : mild, slightly cloudy.

My chickens wake up way before I do,and were out last night at almost 1 A.M.I fill up their feeders at like 9:30 P.M. though, so that probably throws them off.

Evening temperature: 8c

This will be interesting to follow along with.
Might I suggest instead of "dawn" and "night",
you give sunrise and sunset?
Sunny or cloudy is good to note.

One thing I have noticed over the years, all of the chickens a year and older are heading to the coop before the sun sets, so dusk is coming, but it's a ways off yet.

The ones younger, around 3-6 months, stay out about a half an hour longer before heading to their temp coop.

The littlest ones about 2 months old are still out in their pen when it's nearly dark. They have a 4-month-old blind pullet with them that even somehow knows it's time for bed and heads in their hutch about half an hour before those little squirts decide to call it a night.

Sort of like humans. :gig

My flock goes in around 5:45pm. I started hearing my roo around 6:30am. Now I'm wanting to stick a camera back up out there.

My flocks both go to bed at 5pm now, maybe 5:30 on warm days. The roo has started crowing around 4am instead of his usual 6:30am too. They're off the roosts by 6:30-7am but I don't typically get out there to open the door until 7:30am (I have cams I check daily though). I live in Northern California so the weather is mild.
