Little guy is peeping well under mom but can't pick up his little head very well. I am hoping he just needs to regain strength. The others are pipping and peeping well.

One is out!! a little vaulted skull silkie. S/he may not make it tho - she has a decent amount of blood left in her shell but does not appear to be bleeding now. Is staggering around a little and peeping but weak. Still, it's nice to know something hatched.

the egg says b/b/s - I think that means blue/black/splash?

Posted in another thread, but here's some pics of my hatch. At the bottom is a link to a video I took of two hatching at the same time. Thanks to all those for the support and help in answering questions. Yay chickies!

If you're bored a video of two hatching at almost the exact same time. They make it out around the 2:45 mark (click picture to launch) -

This morning 18 more of my coturnix hatched, for a total of 22 so far.

This being a staggered hatch I expect probably a dozen more in the next 3-5 days.

I just candled the silkie egg, and the 2 silkie X slw eggs. Eveything looks right on time!!!!!

Words could never describe the excitment I am feeling right now!! I am trying to not get my hopes up too much, these being shipped eggs and me wanting them to hatch so bad. I can't help it, tho.......lockdown for these babies is the 27th. The air cells look good, but I noticed a tiny bit of "wiggle" in a very small area of each aircell. I have been very, very careful handling these eggs, only candled them twice, and very gentle each time. I knew the air sacs might be problematic because of shipping. I hope they can handle the hatching, and not drown or anything.

Ya'll I can't get these kind of chickens around here, and I want them so bad, it hurts. I have made up my mind, tho, that I will try again whether or not it works this time.

I won't be candling again until lockdown. I don't want to over-handle these eggs.

Well, I now have two day 19 hatchers and one more pipped. The two both seemed a bit weak, and one had blood left in the egg, but both are currently stumbling around and peeping so they seem ok so far. Go chickies go!!!
