I’m in the act and looking for some kind of feed for my roosters, all they have is layer pellets, anyone know where I can find something to feed my cockerels?

Do you have specific requirements you're looking for? There's various chick starters but they tend to vary in quite high protein %'s and often medicated. Most Gamebird feeds are un-medicate but again, quite high in protein. I think most finishers and growers are medicated which I personally wouldn't want to feed long term...I’m in the act and looking for some kind of feed for my roosters, all they have is layer pellets, anyone know where I can find something to feed my cockerels?
I just read that layer feed is bad for roos because they have too much calciumDo you have specific requirements you're looking for? Is this for long term feeding for the roosters or just growing out for the cockerels?
I'd never even heard of them until reading your post. Best of luck tracking them down.Is there any Aussies who are aware if we have any lines of blue based Coronation Sussex here?

I'm not entirely sure then, I'm not sure how bad feeding a high protein feed such as starter or grower would be long term, or a medicated feed. It’s for long term feeding
Thanks MJ, I've not got all that many Sussex left and I'm starting to think about getting some more. I'd love to do a Blue Tailed Buff breeding project, but if I can't find the correct Coronations, guess I'll just have to settle for something elseI'd never even heard of them until reading your post. There’s a couple big feed stores to check out but thanks of I can’t find anything I’ll try thatI'm not entirely sure then, I'm not sure how bad feeding a high protein feed such as starter or grower would be long term, or a medicated feed.
I know it's not the most popular choice but I just feed all mine the Vella Stock Feeds Free range scratch mix, it's about the only suitable mixed flock feed available to me.
Supplementing Calcium for laying hens is easy enough.
