Suggestions on automatic coop door? We’ve had two kinds. Chicken Guard and Run-chicken. Run chicken door is broken after 8 months of use. Company won’t stand by their warranty. It’s been incredibly disappointing. They’ve been giving me the run around for over a month. They’ve confirmed in an email to me that the door does not function as it is supposed to, and yet still will not stand by their warranty. The door almost smooshed one of my hens - it is just dangerous. It’s been a joke dealing with them. Anyone have any suggestions on a door that functions properly? Thank you in advance!

Pullet shut, no contest imo. I bought mine 10 years ago, used it for 3 and then it sat out in the NH winters unused for 7. I plugged it back in after I recovered my coop and it works perfectly

I've got a Chicken Guard. The old type that winds in a string attatched to the pop door. It's been very reliable. I've had it eighteen months now. The only problem I've had is rats chewing through the string.
I like the string model because unless one has a particulalry heavy door, even if the unit goes wrong, either opening or closing, it's not likely to damage the hen. I'm not so keen on the cog driven model from Chicken guard for exactly this reason.
