Here on today’s edition of “Hen or Roo?”, we have a pair of 7 week -old Ayem Cemanis. They were sold to me as a pair of pullets, but I’m thinking one is a cockerel. One was hatched about 5 days after the other, so she’s a bit smaller. But she’s always had a tiny little comb and is very timid. The other has a much bigger comb and has displayed somewhat aggressive behavior - even running up and attacking fully grown hens at the first chance.
Though of course the big mamas didn’t put up with that nonsense!! The thing that’s really stumping me is that the feathering seems to indicate that it’s a pullet. Is it possible it’s a female but just has a much larger comb (and personality)?
We’ve been raising chickens for nine years now, but we’ve never had a rooster. I’ve included pictures of both - it’s fairly easy to see the difference between the two. What do y’all think?
