Hi all! This may seem like a really silly question, but as they are inside the house now and just in a crate w/shavings, water, food and each other, there's not much to occupy our two new little ducklings. We're enjoying getting to know them, but since I can't supervise the kids w/them all the time the ducklings are spending a great deal of time by themselves
where the kids can't get into them.

Has anyone found anything baby ducks like to play with? Do ducks get bored?

Thanks!

As long as there are the 2 of them, I dont think they will get bored....maybe after the kids go to bed, you can go get them out, and hold them, talk to them for a bit.

I used to try to put toys in with ducklings. Theyacted like it was a secret recipe marinade module.
I would just spend time handling them and cuddling and talking to them. And stroking their little bills and webbed feets would be soothing to them (and me). Mine used to love to sit in my hand and nod off.

they need a temperature of 35/36 degrees c... i doubt anyone keeps their house that hot day and night...

I put a turkey feather duster in the corner and taped it at a level so they could hide under it. They spent a lot of time peeking out and then running under it. I also put a little mirror in the brooder. JJ and Bungie thought the thawed french cut green beans I put in their dish were toys

Eventually they figured out they were supposed to eat them but they seemed to have fun dragging them around too.

When they get bigger, give them some feeder goldfish. Now THAT is a great duck toy!
