I am doing a baby shower for my daughter in october. I know its a bit early but I wanted to start early so I don't have to come up with the money to do it all at once. I have already reserved our church(it doesn't cost me anything) I alread picked out the theme and colors. Rubber duckies(daughter loves them) lt. blue , yellow and a little pink. I figured ducks go for boy or girl. I am planning on hangind assorted sizes of lt blue chinese lanterns to represent bubbles. if anyone has any other ideas on decorations, food games, and favors. I would love to hear it. this is m first baby shower to throw. I really want it to be special.

You might look up "Oriental Trader" online. They have a bunch of duck stuff as well as all types of party supplies and their prices are really good.

At baby showers in the past I have Made a table top tree. Took a large branch, spray paint it white and put the branch in a decorated planter or coffee can filled with plaster of paris. then decorate the tree with pastel color narrow ribbon. I have used craft clothes pins(very small)also. I usually tied on the tree: Bibs, baby socks, thermometer, medicine measuring instruments, teething rings, binkys and toys. Then I would tie on a $10,$5,$1 dollar bills..just to get the other guests started leaving money hanging also. This has been beautiful decoration an just a big hit!

I went to a baby shower once and the person/people giving the shower froze little tiny babies (I assume they got them from a cake decorating shop) in ice cubes made from dark juice. If you ended up with a baby in your cup after the ice cubes melted then you won a prize. Kind of cute and easy!

I make diapers cakes and decorate with other baby items.

For my sister's shower I sculpted a Noah's Ark cake and had lots of little plastic animals on it, walking up the plank and surrounding it.

I also make specialty candies and my favorite is making confection duckies. Sometimes I put a couple under a big glass and make a washcloth bouquet and set that on the base as a centerpiece.

I love baby showers! No babies being born around here now though.

On the order of baby ice cubes, i have seen where everyone gets one frozen with a baby in it,and who ever gets the baby out first wins a prize!

get some fabric paints and some plain white (cheap) baby clothes, one per guest to decorate. it's a fun activity, and even the most simple design can be effective (i've made myself one wih a

face painted on it in black, and it looks great).

you can iron them when they're dry to fix the design (depends on brand of paint), and it's nice to have unique decorated clothes for baby
