Baby the beakless bird

No where do I see mentioned grit access. When we have a house chicken or a chicken caged while recuperating, we sometimes forget all about grit. They still require it for digestion.

Get some baby liquid vitamins and give those to her each day. Another reason she may be losing feathers is because she lacks vitamin D which chickens usually get from exposing their feathers to the sun. If she isn't getting direct sun each day, you will need to be sure she gets the vitamin D in a supplement.
I will put her in the bay window for sun. Never thought of that,or grit wow thank you 😊

Yes I agree she is very underweight! I don't know how to get her to gain weight. I give her dry cat food too but I am at a loss on what is nutrient rich and high calorie enough for her. I was thinking dried corn but nutrition wise maybe not. Can you give a bird a multivitamin? I am failing her and feel horrible. I love this little bag of shabby feathers. Can I feed her if her crop feels full? So many questions!! Sorry guys.
I know you're trying your best. I'm sorry you didn't get much help sooner.

Sun through a window still may not allow her to get the vitamin D she needs.

Newer house windows have UV protection, the UV being where the vitamin D is. Except for my thirty-year old windows. I can work on my skin cancer without leaving my living room.

Id recommend tube or torpedo feeding! Spring water avian has a good mix for birds that need more nutrition!

Personally I use layer crumbles for my birds but when my one crossbeak was younger id use medicated chick crumble. Also cat food wise are you using dry or wet cat food?

some things you can try are tuna/other types of fish/canned meat, cat squeezy treats(my crossbeaks go nuts for them and they are high in protein), and you can also try making fruit/veggie smoothies with crumbles mixed in + feed supplements! I use Vital Nutrients by the pampered chicken mama and the supplements from fresh eggs daily! My birds dont seem to mind the taste of the supplements

Other things you can try is yogurt(in moderation, too much can cause diarrhea but its good for their gut health in smaller amounts!)

Maybe I can get her a sunlight lamp. Hubby has come to love her too although having two house chickens wasn't in the vows. I think he might 🤔

My windows are original 1960 so everything comes in them so hopefully she can get a bit of sun til the lamp comes.

I think adding vitamin D to her diet will work fine until the spring when you can let her outside. Lamps with good UVB are expensive (I own reptiles).
