So, pretty much I have a wyandotte hen whos broody, and shes BAD at it. She doesn't keep eggs under her and sometimes there are 3 eggs right next to her and 2 under her! She has had them for a week and hasn't figured it out. I want the chicks! I put 3 of her eggs under two broody silkies that are in a separate coop, but has anyone had experience with a bad broody hen? I tried to break her 3 weeks ago (and I collected eggs until a week ago but then gae up) but after 2 weeks in a crate she was still broody. Can I teach her? Probably not, but it never hurts to ask!

How old is this hen? I haven’t heard of a Wyandotte going broody before. This isn’t normal, though I have seen some hens kick eggs out and some say those are duds. In your case, I feel like it's more of she doesn't know what she’s doing and might not have enough instincts to figure it out. Unless you want to watch her and keep pushing the eggs back under her, I suggest you break her.

Here's my broody jail setup. I give them around three days in it, but some stubborn hens will need to stay longer.

Wyandottes do go broody. I have a Columbian Wyandotte who always seems to want to lay on eggs. Last week I finally gave her some of our best colored eggs and put the date on them. Which I am glad I did that because other hens are going in and laying eggs around her and I would have no idea other than color (the brown or tan eggs) if they were added.
She is a great mama to chicks. When broody she will take any chicks and raise them.

Is it possible other hens are
laying new eggs in the nest? Or are these the original 3? Have you marked the original eggs?
