Badly pecked hen

I believe this hen is injured from pecking... it looks like the spots where the roosters mount and grab her neck and maybe she got injured and the others just went after her. Not 100% sure but the location of her wounds seems consistent with that explanation. It looks like they got one of her eyes too.

She's got no skin on the back of her neck and back (its red and raw looking). I included a picture of the spray i used. I set her up in a large uhaul box in the garage with food and water. I just went out and she was drinking.

Any suggestions? I'm not fussed either way. I just don't want her to suffer (she's about 1.5 years old). If it's not something I can reasonably treat, I will have my husband broomstick her.

Poor thing. Of course, keep her separated. Give some electrolytes or sugar water up to her beak often for shock. Mix some wet chicken feed and a little scrambled egg when she is drinking, and hold that up to her beak as well. She is definitely going to need feeding and watering if she cannot see. Has there ever been any bullying before, or have you added any new birds recently? How many roosters do you have? Dab her head and any other wounds with warm saline, and when dry apply some plain antibiotic ointment twice a day. A wound spray such as Vetericyn can also be used in place of saline. Saline can be made with adding 2 tsp of salt to a quart of water. Let us know how she gets along.

No major bullying as far as I know. The two roosters get into it from time to time. I have 13 hens and 2 roosters. 9 of the hens were raised together and one of those hens hatched and raised the other 4 hens and 2 roosters, so these birds have always been together. None of my birds are particularly aggressive including the roosters.

She was drinking on her own tonight. Tomorrow I'll do the electrolytes, wet food, and eggs if she's still doing OK.

Also, only one of her eyes in closed, the other is fine.

Do you think the wounds are too big/deep for her to survive?

Darn chickens are savages!!
