Hello,

I have 6 straight run silver laced wyandottes, 4 weeks old. I feel confident 2 of them are little roosters as their tail feathers are much smaller (took ages just to get to this stage), their combs sit higher, they have always been much lighter in color and 1 of them in particular is pecky and likes to chest bump everyone (named... Pecky) .

But now one of the ones with large tail feathers keeps going after Pecky and I'm doubting if that one is actually a Hen (or perhaps Pecky had just annoyed her 😆)

What do we think?

Think girl? The other 4 look just like her.

Pecky the Rooster?

I also have 2 barred rocks, 4 weeks. I felt confident I had a roo and a Hen but I'm wondering of my roo is actually a Hen 🤔

Daisy, quite confident she's a Hen, almost nonexistent spot on the back of her head, very dark

Favorite Bird - the rooster?

The darker Wyandotte in front is a female. The other one with more white might be a male, but I would give it some more time to be sure.

The last barred rock is a female, I believe. Males don't generally have that green wash over the legs. But it is a bit light in color, so wait and see on that one, too.

The darker barred rock looks female.

The barred rock legs have been giving me pause, too. He/she is quite the mystery! Has absolutely no interest in chest bumping the ones I feel stronger are male and does enjoy a cuddle.

Although the last 2 barred rock chicks I had were totally different colors and both female.

The last Barred Rock is a male. It is double barred (more white). That is not possible on a pullet. All other birds could go either way. Wyandottes pullets can get early wattles and show some red in the combs.
