Hello, I've had some great input from folks here regarding my amorous female runners. Based on those discussions and talking with my vet, I have been considering adding a drake to the flock. I have posted in the forums here in search of a young runner male in VA, and I've been looking on Craigs List, but haven't come across any runner drakes. I was wondering what other breed might be a good companion - personality (not aggressive, used to people - our ducks lay eggs but are more pets than livestock), size, etc. The hens are 4-5 lbs so I don't want a heavy breed, but not sure if a smaller breed male would get picked on? I have looked at some available Anconas which seem like a good possibility. Any thoughts?
