We just moved to Converse but we aren't in the city limits. We are however in a neighborhood but they have no HOA and we were given no restrictions. Do any if you know of any restrictions on chickens in Bexar Co.? I can't find any doing a Google search.
I'd like to have them again.
Thx!

I checked the City of Converse ordinances and ti looks like you are supposed to register fowl (obtain a permit) with the animal control agent and meet the following restriction for keeping poultry;

Chicken, turkey, goose, guinea, duck, pigeon, pheasant, quail, or other fowl. Such fowl will be kept in a pen, lot, or enclosure, enclosed with "chicken wire" and they cannot be permitted to run at large within the city limits. All of the sides of such fowl lot shall be at least 75 feet from any building or structure used for living, sleeping, or dining by humans. Each such fowl lot will be of a size that provides a minimum of five square feet of space per fowl in the enclosure. The fowl house, if used, will be in this area. Such fowl lot must be constructed so that the fowl cannot fly out of the fowl lot.

Bexar county has no restrictions on chickens have lived in bexar county my whole life

If you are not in converse proper and are in bexar county then no problem owning chickens

So I also live in Converse TX but am technically Bexar County. I called Bexar County Animal Control to double check about any rules & there are none. We can have our coop along our fence & there's no limit to chickens other than obvious common sense of what your property can hold & what you can take care of. Yeay!
