Has anyone used Big Ole Bird poultry supplement? It's a liquid probiotic from Southland Organics. Ingredients include humic and fulvic acid. I purchased a quart of it after reading about on the "Chicken Chick" blog. Smells like compost! Wondering if anyone has tried it and what their thoughts are about it.

I am just now circling around BOB. Found out Little Peddler at Little Peddler French Marans uses it. She's quite the fan and her birds are stunning. I think the addition of the amino acids is very interesting. I have been reading articles on the positive benefits of them on the commercial poultry growers blogs. So started searching for an advanced probiotic for my Light Sussex and whaddayaknow? Up pops Big Ol' Bird. I am intrigued and going to pursue this further.
Best,

I started my hens on it today after reading good reviews. Too soon to know anything, of course. What I'm really wondering is if I can give it to my dogs. I have a lot of dogs and this looks like it could be really cost-effective, instead of a product specifically marketed for dogs. (I frequently see that stuff for livestock is cheaper per animal than the equivalent pet product.) But I don't want to give them something that might not be appropriate or even harmful. I've emailed the BoB manufacturer but while I'm waiting for an answer, I'm wondering if anyone here has any insight?
