Bird cage spray paint that’s safe for birds.

Can not powder paint, and I have a few cages that are starting to discolor and signs of perhaps rust. Want to paint because I plan to get African Grays sometime this summer.

Are there any paints that are safe for painting the cages that will not harm the birds?

I’ve been reading online, but seems all I can find is argumentative ideas that don’t seem defining enough for me to trust.

I cannot think of the name, maybe it was a Rustoleum brand spray paint, but we picked some up at Walmart years ago. It said on the can it was safe for pet cages. We sprayed our macaw parrot cage. That was about a decade ago and she's still alive.

As I recall, they only sell a few brands of spray paint in their paint department so it should be easy to figure out.
