We want to do a sexable Colored-Egger that is sexable at hatching. First of all, we are fine if it is an Easter-Egger and not an Olive-Egger; we are billing them as Colored-Eggers. We are just frustrated with having to wait 6-8 weeks to sex because people don't want straight-run. We have read that a Black Ameraucana rooster over a Cuckoo Marans hen will produce a sexable chick. Is this accurate? We want to make sure before we make such a large investment. Has anyone done this or had any experience with it? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

I crossed my Black Copper Marans rooster with my Cuckoo Marans hen and got a sexed cockerel hatched with the tell tale white spot on the head. However, I am unsure of how the genetics work with a mixed breed rooster. @moonshiner can you answer this? I think you helped sort me out a little while ago with my genetics questions.
