Here are the 2 chicks from our other set of hatching eggs, which we were told were black German Langshan. The chicks were only 3 days old when these photos were taken, earlier this week - please can anyone tell us whether they are actually German Langshan? If so, I guess it's far too early to say whether they are girls or boys, but does anyone have any tips on how we can tell (and how soon)?

Many thanks.

They look like my Langshan chicks, except that mine are lightly feathered down the legs. I guess the German variety doesn't have the feathering, but I'm not familiar with those. I really wouldn't try to guess sex for a couple months.

I know this is an old post but no German Langshans have clean legs :) thanks for putting these pictures up! as I have just hatched an egg I thought was off my partridge wyandotte bantams but the chick looks identical to these ones! This egg must have been layed the day after I got my new hens with my wyandottes eggs and my wyandottes decided to sit on it!
