I started my chickens on Tylan 50 three days ago for respiratory problems; can this cause black stools? Is it anything to worry about or will it pass when the treatment is over?

Hello, I know this post is old but I'm seeing absolutely nothing online about this. Just yesterday I started mine on antibiotics for respiratory infection and I'm seeing them all with jet black poop that I've never never seen before. Were your chickens ok after this?I started my chickens on Tylan 50 three days ago for respiratory problems; can this cause black stools? Hi! Not sure when this was posted, but I am experiencing the same thing with my pullet who is also on antibiotics for a respiratory infection. My guess is that it's normal - she is acting way happier and has so much more energy than she did when she was showing symptoms. The black poops didn't start until she went on the medication. We're halfway through the meds now, and she still has black poop, but is eating and drinking and running around like her healthy, normal self. I'm not sure because I'm a first time chicken owner and this is all new to me, but after a lot of research, it seems like if it was a bad thing, she wouldn't be showing so much improvement. I say we should just keep an eye on our chickies and if they start acting worse or the black poops last beyond the round of meds, we should be concerned, but as long as they are eating and drinking and have good energy levels, I think they're fine.Hello, I know this post is old but I'm seeing absolutely nothing online about this.
