Black Swedish duck feather color?

Glad to know that now :)
Unfortunately, She never went broody until now which is after the drake passed, a neighboring mallord shacked up with her, so i'm anxious to see what the babies will look like.

The greenish tint forming on the head are signs of a Drake. This is exactly how my drake looked at that age.

So glad you posted this.  We bought "8 ducklings" in a box at auction.  I thought they might have been Muscovy, initially.  Now that they're feathering out, they look like these.  One even has a nice feather pouf on his head.  My children named him Feather Head.  Anyway, I only gave $3.25 for them, so sweet deal compared to the hatchery.  How do you like having these?  Good egg layers?  Anyone in the frozen north keep these over winter?

They're supposed to be a very hardy breedm both good for meat birds and egg layers. Also very docile

All of my black swedes have black and green all over, and it gets weird because they have an iridescence to them where they look blue and purple. you can check on my photo album of My Ducks and possibly could see it, three of them are males and I have one female for black swedes

Only blue swedish are the approved color for showing, due to that it is believed that blue swedes are hardier than black or splash/silver. If you want, you can get a splash/silver swede, and pair it with your black, then you get all blue babies that you can show

THESE WERE MY 2 SWEDISH BLUES - THE GREY WAS MALE AND THE BLACK WAS THE FEMALE, AM CURRENTLY INCUBATING 6 OF HER EGGS SHE LEFT BEHIND FOR ME.

Yours look similar to mine only bigger. My black one quacks but the gray one doesn't but as you can see the black one is a bit bigger and I always thought the males were bigger.
