Hi
One of my quails has a loss of feathers on one head and it has also got blood on its head. It is not because of mating because she is not old enough and I have only got 1 male and 7 female. None of the other quails are like this. Thanks for the help.😃🕊️

She'll be okay. She probably flushed and hit the top of her cage when she got scared or something. She looks old enough to be close to breeding age, so it could've been caused by another quail. Your m/f ratio is good, though.

They heal really fast. I'd almost be tempted to leave her in there if you can supervise them fairly well, but taking her out to be safe might not be a terrible idea, especially if you can contain her within sight of the other group. Some non-pain-relief triple antibiotic ointment would be fine to use on it.

Thank you. Any recommendations for any antibacterial ointment. Is there anything natural. I prefer natural remedies.

Thank you but the male and female are the same age. If anything the male might be younger. He is smaller
That may not matter. If he's over 4 weeks old, he could be sexually active. She certainly looks to be at least six weeks old, so I'm guessing that he is too.

Washing her wound with saline solution and keeping it clean should be plenty to help her heal. Quail heal very quickly.
