Blue Brahma chicken

Hi!!

I bought some eggs blue brahma now the chicks they have six weeks,but not exactly the same color, do not seem all blue, or when they grow are different?
any suggestion?

Those are beautiful chickens!

As for the different colors, the color blue is bred into chickens by mixing together black and splash chickens (splash being two copies of the genes that control the blue color). Because of this, chicks sold as "blue" may be black, splash or blue.

I can see 1 splash, 2 blue, 1 black and 1 mixed color.

In general

blue x blue = 25% black, 50% blue, 25% splash
blue x black = 50% blue, 50% black
blue x splash = 50% blue, 50% splash

black x splash = 100% blue

splash x splash = 100% splash
