My sweet little Naked Neck got attacked by a bobcat yesterday and ofcourse had the most damage to her neck the whole ordeal was about 15 seconds from when they alerted me to when I was carrying her in the house and assessing the damage

I immediately sprayed with chlorhexidene and put her in a warm dark dog kennel with water with sugar and poultry cell and some scrambled egg she ate a tiny bit of the egg but I don't think she's drinking any water

This morning she is struggling and unfortunately I think on her way out. I found her on her back w/ legs straight out so I thought she was gone and then I went to pick her up and she popped back up she isn't keeping her head up and has liquid/foam coming from her mouth periodically so I kept dipping her beak to get her to drink something and she got annoyed with me a walked to the back of the coop - and ofcourse through all this she laid an egg last night 😭

All that to say I think it's time I dispatch her but just wanted to see if anyone had a gal make it through this to give me hope

I was actually surprised to see her standing up but she's laid back down now I am terrified of syringing water because of how easy it is to aspirate them 😭 it feels like a lose lose if she doesn't drink she dies or I potentially drown her grrrrr

Coat the wound with triple antibiotic and keep her in a safe place, that's not that serious of a wound. If you don't want to syringe liquids into her, try dipping her beak in a little cup of sugar water. Get her hydrated before worrying about her eating. Sugar water is for shock, deal with that first.

She just passed about 30 min ago I definitely think she had internal injuries
