Breed standard?

So my drake is a silver phase then?

QUOTE="Duckworth, post: 21676620, member: 477934"]Silver phase has the teal/purple/blue wing bars. Gold phase has bronze wing bars.

No the drakes are different, they all have a blueish purple wing bar. The gold phase will have brown and black where its sex feathers are and there backs. The silver phase will have grey and black.

So he is gold phase then? Lol sorry I'm confused.

Sorry, I was just saying the purple wing bar isn't how you tell the silver phase drakes because the gold phase drakes also have the purple wing bar. The way you tell gold from silver in drakes is the color of the tail. Heres a source I found online that shows the difference. http://www.muscovyduckcentral.com/thefarm/welshharlequin.html

from what I can see yours looks to be a silver phase. So yeah I guess you were right :lau sorry dint mean to confuse you.

The reason his head is white is because of molt? @Fisherlmiranda
Yes hes going thought a molt, the head turns mostly white and he will replace all his wing feathers. And some of his body will look lighter in color. For a season, but then he will get back to his full colors in the spring. They are called the nuptial plumage, when they are brightly colored and attracting a mate.

He already molted his wing feather and they are back. Is there anyway that I can speed up his molt? Reason I ask is because I have a show coming up and he is one of my show drakes and I would like him to be in his best condition. @Fisherlmiranda
