I know there are lots of good breeders out there breeding some really amazing Orpingtons. Blue, lavender, silver laced, white, mottled and what not. I am looking for a good quality (meaning to the APA standards) breeder of the regular 'ole buff color. Plain, maybe, but it's what I want because good buff orps are so hard to find! Maybe because so many hatcheries mass-produce them.

Anyways, I've been trying to reach out to quite a few breeders from the United Orpington Club with no luck. If you have nice buffs or know of a source that does, PLEASE tell me! I've been searching for the past 6 months without any results. Would love to get some hatching eggs shipped for the spring.

I'm in So Cal, but am not overly concerned about having to purchase shipped. Appreciate your feedback! Thanks!

Found a promising place for you to look into. Check out the Sustainable Poultry Network website. They have a certified flock in West Virginia.
Also, wow! I can’t believe how hard it is to find good Buff Orpingtons! I saw this post did some googling and found nothing. Happened to listen to a podcast about SPN and checked out their website, and they listed a Buff Orpington breeder. Good luck, hope you can find some good birds!

Thanks, just sent an email to them asking for some photos! I'll let you know what I find out.

Yes, it's amazing how uncommon good buffs are, considering that they're such a widespread starter breed. I just discovered that my primary BO male is a carrier of yellow leg :] which is disappointing to say the least.

I did find a source that sold English Buff Orpingtons (which is a bit different from what I was looking for, but still really nice birds).

These guys have about every Orpington color there is on the planet, so definitely a good resource if you're looking for English Orpingtons!
