Bresse Farms

I ordered hatching eggs from Justin twice with zero hatch rate, all duds. I won't buy from them again. The Bresse Farm without the "S" from Florida is much better, I bought hatching eggs from Frank on ebay. They hatched, beautiful birds.

I just received my order from Bresse Farms. I worked with Justin. The communication was great. There was a bit of nasty weather that threw off the postal system but otherwise all of the chicks arrived and he called me shortly after to just check and make sure we had received the chicks. In my opinion, Bresse Farms has been easy to work with and it was my first time getting chicks in the mail and not our local hatchery.

Sounds like they maybe sent you the "Bresse Mixed Box" instead of the black Bresse. All the colors that they list on their website are the correct options (White, Black, Blue, and Splash are as far as I know the only colors Breese are available in). It's weird that there's 3 RIR and maybe a Creme Legbar. Do you have any pictures? As far as I know they're legitimate but I've never ordered from them. Sorry you're having such a bad experience.

Update: I'm now wondering if my Bresse chickens are full blooded Bresse. One of my hens (white one) has a few feathers growing on her legs. The black hen is developing a floppy comb.

One of the Rhode Island Reds I received had a flat comb. I started thinking about that too.

There are several reviews of problems with Bresse Farms. I won't be ordering from them again.

Judging from this other thread that I just read (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/bad-experience-with-bresse-farms-in-pontotoc-ms.1457942/) it seems like maybe 'Justin' is just a random email sign off. Sound like the place might be scummy I feel bad for the birds.
