Whole Foods (& smaller "health" stores I'd imagine) has nutritional yeast you can buy in bulk; it's been the cheapest option for me. The prepackaged stuff in grocery stores can be outrageously priced.

It's not bad $7 for 12ounces which should be plenty for the little ones. To get to a whole foods is over an hour away. But thanks for the tip. I buy spices in bulk and boy are they cheaper. It's definitely a good idea for those with better access.

Just got back it was actually 2.99 for 4ounces which should be enough for a while and I can powder it with my fingers as I sprinkle. Hope they will eat it this time.
